How to open T45 US version?
Posted by private, Sun 8 Jan 2012 5:30 pm
I just stumbled on your site while trying to figure out how to open the T45 US version Tassimo. Would you happen to have a pic you could post of the inside of the left side of the unit? My machine is leaking water under the cup stand when I brew. The machine was shipped to me and there was water in it at one time and it was frozen when I received it. Thank You

Hi,
As requested, please find attached a photo of the inside of the left side of a Tassimo T45.
There is a pipe leading from the brew head to a drain underneath the cup stand so if you have water appearing there it suggests a problem in the brew head.
Hope that helps. Let me know if I can help further, Stuart

Hi Stuart,
Thank you for the pic. What exactly is that unit with the little cap you mention came loose on your friends unit? The leak on mine was the hose coming from that valve or whatever it is with the cap, passing water into the tray of the brewhead instead of the brew head itself. I pulled the line and plugged it and the machine works fine, but I'm a little leary of keeping it that way.
Thanks Again,
Al

Hi Al,
I believe the unit with the cap on the top is the water heater. I think it generates both hot water and steam and these are carried separately along two pipes (one large, one small) to the brew head. I believe that cap which I had to re-secure on my friend's machine might actually be responsible for separating the steam and water.
If you have plugged one of the tubes coming from that cap and you say the machine now works again, I suspect you may have plugged the steam line.
Let me know how you get on,
Stuart

Hi stuart,
Yes, I did plug the small line. With that line connected to the nipple it was originally fastened to, it pumped water onto the bottom of the t disc tray, not into it right next to the drain tube for the brew head tray.. When you open the machine it is right under the hinge. I was thinking it might have been a vent line which would mean there is a malfunctioning check valvre under that little cap that is letting water pass by it. I'll run it like this for a few days and see what happens and let you know. Thanks Again! Al
