No water being dispensed

Posted by private, Thu 29 Dec 2011 11:59 am
Hi, hope you dont mind me posting a question here - I have a problem with my TAS4011 whereby it doesnt seem to dispense water when a T-disc is inserted. All I get is a lot of steam during the brew cycle and no cup of coffee - maybe a couple of drips?! I've recently descaled it and when using the yellow cleaning T-disc water does indeed come through - but not when a proper coffee disc is inserted. One other thing - for a while after the cycle is finished you can hear a bit of bubbling as if the water is restricted somewhere and is still under pressure.

Thanks for any light you may be able to shed and thanks for putting up the solution for the cap - I've checked and it isnt that problem.

Thanks

Jim

Hi Jim,

Sorry to hear that you are having problems with your Tassimo machine.

I haven't heard of the problem you describe before. It sounds to me like
there could be a lack of pressure at the T-disc end. Perhaps enough pressure
to force water through an empty yellow cleaning T-disc but not sufficient
for a T-disc containing coffee, tea, chocolate, etc.

Has the machine previously worked fine and has just developed this problem?
How old is the machine?

Let me know and I'll try to help more.

Hi, thanks for replying. The machine is 2 years old (was an xmas present a couple of years back). It worked fine for mist of that time. I think the quality of the drinks seemed to degrade a bit just before it stopped working completely. I don't know if its related but I think my wife ran it thru a descale with just water just before it stopped working.
Thanks Jim

Hi Jim,

Do you like in a hard-water area? Perhaps it is a build of lime-scale in the boil chamber. Might be worth buying some de-scaler and running that through the machine. Failing that, I think you’ll need a new machine.

Sorry I can’t be more help,
Stuart

Hi,
Thanks again for the reply. Yes I live in a really hard water area. I tried rescaling with Bosch descaling tablets yesterday but know change. I get the feeling its a problem caused by scale but we have always descaled the machine as and when its indicated it needed doing. Unless you can suggest any better descaling stuff looks like its heading for the bin. Shame really, I really liked the convenience factor. Cheers. Jim
