Using Brita filtered water
Posted by private, Tue 8 Apr 2014 10:52 pm
Got our first Tassimo machine today, a T4.
I planned to use brita filtered water in it as I do with my kettle as we live in a hard water area and it cuts down on lime scale.
The instruction booklet says not to use chemically softened water which I know is different but there was a picture of a brita filter with a cross through it in the booklet as well.
Is that telling me that for some reason I can't use brita filtered water in the machine? Can't imagine what it could possibly do to it other than reduce the lime scale.
Thanks

Yes this comes up a lot. Tassimo do not recommend using softened water in their machines but I, like you, can not imagine how this would hurt. That said, I too live in a hard water area (York, North Yorkshire), do not soften my water and yet have never had a problem with limescale.
Hope that helps,
Stuart
