Getting small measures!

Hi Stuart!

What a refreshing site, so much useful information!

Like so many others I have spent hours on the telephone to both Tassimo and Bosch whose answer is pack it up and we will give you an estimate for repairs!

My Tassimo TAS2001GB is out of warranty and worked intermittently for the past 2 months, sometimes giving a full measure, other times a very small measure (but strong!).

I have de-scaled it every 3 weeks and flush it weekly, even though I only use it 4 times, 5 times a week. I think there is a problem with the barcode scanner as not enough water is produced. I have cleaned and even used washing up liquid on the lens as recommended by Tassimo but the problem persists.

In a previous post Alan commented "Knowing how to turn on the laser was a great help, as it was easy to see how the job was going - took about 2 minutes in total. "

How do you do that?

I have noticed, although rarely, the scanner glows red when I initially open the top cap. Should this be alight always?

Regards,

Chris

Hi Chris,

Glad to hear that you found my Tassimo info helpful.

It's weird that your Tassimo machine is giving you short measures. I don't think this will be down to a problem with the scanner. Either the correct code will be scanned or no code will be scanned. This sounds to me more like either a problem with the water flow within the machine or a problem with the controlling circuitry.

See the "No green light after inserting T-disc" section above for how to turn on the scanner. The scanner isn't normally energised until the Tassimo's lid is closed. It then tries for about 10 seconds to read the T-disc barcode.

Hope that helps. Let me know how you get on,
Stuart

Thanks Stuart for your prompt reply.

The scanner is working, tried cleaning but still short measures!

Should water stream continuously when pressing the green+ button, as it only last 3 to 5 seconds?

Yes. Water should continue to stream whilst pressing the green + button.

Thanks for that, maybe I will send it of for an estimate!

Hi, one last question!

How long should the red light of the bar code reader stay on when pushing the black switch?

About 10 seconds.

Thanks! I will report back Bosch's findings!

Bosch results: Faulty scanner and valve.

A free brand new shiny black T20 arrived yesterday :-)

So happy, thanks for your help.
