Hi after 8 months I have a static red light on the bottom which going by manual means time to descale. I live in Edinburgh, Scotland we do not have hard water hence no limescale. Is it ok to use with red light on all the time or should I descale anyway? Thanks.

8 months sounds a bit early for a descale, particularly if you do not live in a hard water area. You could try carrying out a descale anyway to see if this fixes the problem. If it does not, I suspect the machine is faulty and you could return the machine to where you bought it and request a full refund under your statutory rights.

I am sure it is ok to continuing using the machine with the red light but for how long this will work, I’m not sure.

Thank you for your reply. I found Tassimo on Facebook and looked at posts re my problem and there was no need to use tablets only put the yellow disc in and press button for 5 seconds which made the "clean" last for about 20 minutes and that sorted it. Thank goodness. This info might help others .
