I didn't succeed to take the snapshot of my DM.
I tried for several times but no way, even though I followed the procedure.
"With the Infotainment System turned on, hold down the MEDIA button and after approximately 2 seconds you will hear a 'dong' and a screenshot (in .PNG format) will be saved to the root directory of the SD card (if enabled)".
What means "if enabled"? I guess this is the missing detail in order to get the snapshot.
On the other hand, pressing the MENU knob works very well, getting the service menu.

Thank you for your email. You need to activate "Developer Mode" on your car's Infotainment System using a tool such as VCDS in order to save screenshots. I have moved this "secret" to the VCDS page on my website (https://www.stuartdalby.co.uk/vwgolfmk7/VCDS) to try to make this clearer.
